NITRO COLD BREW COFFEE

Cold brew Nitro coffee is created from infusing the base cold brew coffee with Nitrogen to provide a rich, creamy head similar to nitro draft beer such as Guiniess. Cold brew also contains significantly more caffeine than hot-brewed coffee. a real energy booster.

Using N2 chargers & the iSi Nitro Coffee dispenser its easy to make Nitro brew coffee without the expensive and comlicated tubes, hoses, gas tanks, kegs, taps keg connectors etc which can ammount to over £1,500 which is a huge cost for the average at home coffee lover.

The bubbles produced from (N2) Nitrogen are smaller than the bubbles created using (Co2) carbon dioxide or (N20) Nitrous oxide. When N2 is infused into the coffee it gives a luxurious mouthfeel and also a sweetness that many drinkers find appealing.

What was once a technique beloved by beer-obsessed homebrewers in the early 2010s is now one of coffee's biggest and most inescapable trends.

HOW TO MAKE COLD BREW COFFEE

Suggested Items needed:

    • 2 X 64 oz mason jar (Or 2.5~ ltr containers)

    • Coffee grinder

    • Funnel

    • Coffee filter paper

    • 80g coffee beans

    • 1ltr of water (Ideally filtered water)

    • iSi Nitro whip

    • iSi Nitro chargers

METHOD

This guide will teach you how to make amazing cold brew coffee in just a few steps! This is your first step to creating delicious nitro cold brew coffee.

Feel free to shop about for equivilent products the process is the same if you decide to use different items such as funnels, Containers etc!

Step 1: Weigh 80g of coffee beans on your scale.

Any Veriety will work. You will find that coffee tastes less bitter when steeping in cold water vs hot water.

Cold water fundamentally changes which molecules are extracted from the coffee grounds, which is why cold brew is so smooth compared to regular coffee.

Step 2: We are going to start by grinding 80g of coffee beans. Use any type of coffee beans that you enjoy. Depending on the capacity of the coffee grinder, you may need to grind the coffee in batches. The goal is a coarse grind about the size of sugar granuals

Step 3: Simply add your coarse grinded coffee beans to your 64 oz Mason jar.

Step 4: Add your 1ltrs of preferably filterd water to your 64 oz Mason jar. Put the lid on it and store it in your fridge to steep for 16-20 hours.

Gently stir the coffee with the water until mixed. The coffee will float to the top, but don’t worry. Just make sure all of the coffee gets wet.

Steeping time is flexible and down to preference. Some prefer 12 hours, Some prefer 18 to 24 hours. Starbucks steep their cold brew for 20 hours. Through experimentation you will find your flavour and preference. Practice makes perfect.

If you accidently steep yours for longer (24 hours +) Your concerntrate might taste much bitter and stronger than it would have. This can be resolved by adding extra water.

Step 5: Pour your mixture of ground coffee and water into the funnel and let it run through the filter. Removing left over coffee granuals.

Depending on the size of your strainer, you may need to strain the coffee in batches. Once strained, Cover and the cold brewed coffee can be refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.

At this point you can enjoy your creation as-is or go onto making it even better by adding Nitro.

We can recomend pouring 1/2 cup the cold brew over ice, add 1/2 cup cold water, and stir to combine. Add sweet cream or half-and-half if desired and enjoy.

HOW TO TURN YOUR COLD BREW COFFEE INTO NITRO BREW COFFEE

Charging the cold brew coffee with Nitro chargers.

Pour your prepared 1ltr of cold brew coffe into the iSi Nitro dispenser. and tighten on the head. Charge with one N2 Charger and shake at least 6 times.

HOW TO SERVE NITRO BREW COFFEE

Hold the disepnser upside down, at an angle so that when releasing from the dispenser more movment in the liquid results in a more beautiful and higher cascading effect.

Nitro brew coffee can be served cold, iced or hot, its your choice.

BONUS RECIPE: BAILEYS ICED NITRO COFFEE

Items needed:

  • 3 oz Baileys Original Irish Cream

  • 2 large scoops vanilla ice-cream

  • 10 oz whole milk

  • 10 oz freshly brewed nitro coffee coffee

To decorate

  • Whipped cream. (If you want to go extra Irish, Make Baileys infused whipped cream!)

  • 1 oz dark or milk chocolate, melted or 2tbsp of chocolate sauce

  • 2tbsp chopped toasted hazelnuts

  • 1 butter crisp biscuit, chopped

DIRECTIONS Step one:Pour the Baileys in blender with the ice-cream and milk. Step two: Prepare your whipped cream using a whipped cream dispenser. Step three:Fill two tall glasses with ice. Pour in the Baileys mixture, then the cooled coffee. Step four:Dispense the whipped cream, then drizzle the melted chocolate lovingly over it. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and biscuit, and voila, the perfect coffee cool down.
